They are not entitled to a contribution to the IRA in 2006 if made after the due date for fiscal year 2006 - in April 2007.

But the real issue here is that apparently the company that sold you the IRA an error, that the cost of taxes and penalties.

If that's true, there are two ways to proceed. First, with the IRS: Contact your local office and ask what to do. It does not fit the problem by itself, but may be some suggestions about what should be done.

Secondly, the company that sold you the IRA: I have a big scandal about the mistake they committed. If what you say is true, and you pay taxes and penalties on an IRA that you sold what they could legally defer taxes if you have a clear case that I owe the amount of taxes and fines. You may need more.

If you are at, that was the only one who made the mistake are you sure that words like "negligence" is used, "breach of fiduciary duty" and "Action."

The deadline for contributing to the IRA in 2006 was 4/15/2007. 4/15/2008 Deadline for 2007 has been a few weeks ago - and now it's too late.

Check the confirmation deposits and how they see what they say. A warehouse is presumed that for the current year, but expressly for 4 / 15 and noted that for the previous year.
